How To Change Time on GE CT Systems

In this article, we give you a step-by-step process to change the time on GE CT systems. It’s important to note that this procedure requires CT scan applications to be shut down and requires a minimum of 15 minutes to complete.

How To Change Time (GE CT Systems)

1. Shut down applications

Perform CT applications shutdown procedure using the service browser or unix shell.

2. Open a terminal window

Open an unix shell by clicking on the Unix Shell Left or Unix Shell Right Button. This will populate a window with a prompt. Ensure your mouse cursor is within the unix shell when typing prompts.

3. Log in as superuser

In the unix shell, type:

You are now logged in as superuser

4. Enter update commands in the unix shell

Now that you have logged in, enter the following commands to update system time and date:

This command will open a system time and date update program. This is a system-critical process that requires caution with every step. Ensure the date you enter is accurate, reflecting the current time and date in the methods prescribed by the update program.

5. Wait approximately 2 minutes for system to synchronize.

Once the update has completed, ensure your prompt reads, “Update completed with no errors”

6. Verify update and perform system restart

Perform a system restart by typing: restart [Enter] into the unix shell. It’s important to note the system will not restart to applications. System applications will require manual boot via the unix shell after system restart procedure

7. Start system applications.

Once system has restarted, open a unix shell and type: st [Enter] to boot applications.

8. Perform Test Scan

Verify system functionality upon bootup and perform system sanity test scan.
