How To Replace Bit 3 Board (GE Signa LX MRI)
Time needed: 30 minutes
GE MRI Bit 3 Board Replacement Procedure
- Power down system.
Perform MRI system shutdown procedure. Ensure all power has been removed from the system before proceeding.
- Remove GOC left side panel.
Remove the four screws located in the rear that secure the left side panel. Slide the left side panel towards the back and then out to remove.
- Disconnect PC cables and remove from global operator console.
Removing PC from GOC is not required but makes the replacement process easier. Remove all cables from bit 3 board, if not removing PC from GOC
- Remove PC left side panel.
Lift up on the latch to remove the left panel of the PC.
- Remove securing bracket.
Pinch the circuit board securing bracket to remove it.
- Remove the Bit 3 Board.
Press the 2 blue circuit board release tabs at the rear of the PC. Once bit 3 board is unlatched, carefully remove board by lifting away from the motherboard.
- Install Replacement Bit 3 Board.
Gently slide the new Bit 3 board into the systems cabinet chassis slot. Secure at the top and bottom with a small Philips head screwdriver.
- Power-On System and Verify Functionality
Remove LOTO and power on system via PDU cabinet. Perform test scan to verify system functionality.
